Portable Video Package - Hawkeye 1000
 The 1000 series Portable Laser Profiler Package is a cost-effective portable system which measures longitudinal road profile and provides Road Roughness information in units of International Roughness Index (IRI) and other indices.
The Laser Profiler Package is completely portable using a lightweight sensor beam, tow-bar mounting kit, a portable carry case and a laptop computer for the data acquisition system. The system can be transferred easily between vehicles without the need for permanent installation or specialist installation personnel.
The 1000 series Laser Profiler Package measures profile in one or two wheel-paths using a precision laser sensor to measure the road profile and an accelerometer to compensate for vehicle body movement.
An accurate Distance Measuring Instrument combined with a keyed database structure is used to precisely link the data to distance (chainage).
Office-based Processing Toolkit software is used to produce tables and graphs of results in user specified units. Results are available in printed form or as data files which can be readily imported into commercial databases, spreadsheets and Asset Management Systems.

 The Hawkeye software suite for both the 1000 and 2000 series offer a fully integrated solution for data viewing and analysis.
There are two types of software for the Hawkeye range:
- Real-time Data Acquisition - Onlooker Live
- Office-based Analysis Software - Processing Toolkit
All software in the Hawkeye suite is Windows based using the very latest intuitive tools to make analysing of the data an efficient and easy task.
Real-time Data Acquisition Software
- Onlooker Live is an interactive and real-time acquisition control interface.
Office-based Analysis Software
- Processing Toolkit is a professional analysis software package designed to provide choice and scaleability as your needs develop.
 The 1000 series Video Package is a cost-effective Hawkeye compatible system for visually capturing and locating roadside features (for example: signs, hazards etc.) accurately at highway speeds. The system is portable and can be transferred easily between vehicles without the need for permanent installations or specialist staff.
The system accurately logs image frames from a digital camera against distance (chainage) and optionally GPS. The system can easily be operated by a single operator using a laptop computer. The camera can be mounted on a windscreen or dash, and has a built in 12x optical zoom and focus controls.
 A Roughness Kit can be added to the system to simultaneously provide roughness survey data using an axle mounted inertial sensor.
The Hawkeye office-based viewing tools allow the acquired images to be reviewed efficiently. Individual images can then be extracted and the data exported to most Asset Management Systems.
The 1000 series Video Package is fully compatible with other Hawkeye packages and can be upgraded to the more advanced 2000 series.
